If you've just arrived at Albury Holiday Park and you're working out where to get groceries, a prescription filled or cash out, you don't need to head into the city centre to do it. Lavington, where the park is based, has its own shopping precinct — and it's the one most guests end up using for the length of their stay.

Lavington Square Shopping Centre is about three minutes from the park and covers most of what you'd need for a short or extended stay: a full-line supermarket, a pharmacy, a newsagent, a bank branch and a handful of everyday retailers. It's set up for a quick in-and-out trip rather than a browse, which suits guests who are here to get something done rather than spend the afternoon shopping — contractors stocking up before a site start, families topping up the fridge, or anyone who just needs a few things sorted before they get on with the day.

If you need something Lavington Square doesn't have, Albury's CBD is about eight minutes away and has a wider range of retailers, plus additional bank branches and specialty pharmacies. It's an easy trip if you need it, but for the basics — milk, bread, a script filled, cash from an ATM — you likely won't need to leave Lavington at all.

For anyone staying longer term, or working locally through the week, it's worth knowing the supermarket and pharmacy in Lavington Square keep fairly standard trading hours, so early starts or late finishes might mean planning your run in around them. If you're arriving after hours, it's worth grabbing what you need from the servos along the Hume Highway on the way in, then doing a proper shop the next day once you're settled.

For guests here for medical appointments at Albury Wodonga Health, Lavington Square is also a handy stop on the way there or back — it's roughly in the same direction, about ten minutes from the hospital, so you can pick up a prescription or grab supplies without doubling back.

The takeaway: you don't need to plan a special trip into Albury for everyday essentials. Lavington Square covers the basics within a few minutes of the park, and the city centre is close by if you need something more specific.

A couple of other things worth knowing: if you're staying long enough to need a bigger shop — stocking up for a week of work, or settling in for a longer stay — Lavington Square's supermarket is a full-size store, not a small convenience outlet, so you can do a proper weekly shop without driving into the city. And if banking is the main reason for the trip, most major banks have either a branch or an ATM in the Lavington Square precinct, so it's rarely necessary to go further unless you need something specific like a business banking service, which are more concentrated in the CBD.
