Surfer catching a wave at North Haven Beach, North Haven.

If your stay at North Haven Holiday Village includes some time to enjoy the coast, North Haven Beach and Dooragan National Park are both right on the doorstep and worth knowing about.

North Haven Beach is a straightforward option for swimming, walking or just sitting by the water — no bookings required, just a spot to relax whenever the weather and your schedule allow. It’s close enough to the village that even a short break in the day is worth heading down for.

Dooragan National Park has walking trails with views over the Camden Haven area, a reasonable option if you want to be more active than a beach day allows — anywhere from a short walk to something more substantial depending on how much time you’ve got.

Fishing on the Camden Haven Inlet is popular with both locals and visitors, and it’s worth asking around locally about current conditions if that’s an interest — the inlet offers a different experience to open-ocean fishing and suits a more relaxed pace.

For families, North Haven Beach is generally well suited to a range of ages, and the national park’s shorter walks work well if you’ve got kids who can manage a bit of a walk but aren’t up for anything too strenuous.

If you’re passing through on a longer trip rather than staying for a proper coastal break, it’s worth knowing both the beach and a shorter section of the national park trails can be enjoyed in an hour or two, so you don’t need a full day to get some value from stopping here.

The takeaway: North Haven Beach and Dooragan National Park are both close and low-effort — a full day if you want to properly unwind, or a worthwhile hour if you’re just passing through.
